Setting Goals
Posted On 12/28/2008 18:25:51

As the new year approaches, my thoughts are on setting art goals as well as personal ones.  There is  always room for improvement.  I hope to improve in both ways. I HOPE THIS WILL BE A GOOD YEAR FOR EVERYONE.

Polymer Clay
Posted On 12/15/2008 17:48:52

I have recently started working with polymer clay.  I started doing it for my own enjoyment.  Although I enjoy painting I wanted to try something different. I took two of my clay sculptures to a show I participated in and I sold both of them to my surprise. I hope to have a few pictures of them on my webpage soon.

Juried Art Shows Versus Outdoor Fairs
Posted On 09/05/2008 19:06:14

As much as I have enjoyed entering juried art shows in the past, I find that I am developing a greater joy from participating in outdoor shows. Sure, it's great to win an occasional award and it[s good to sale an occasional piece of art but I think that what is beginning to make a difference with me is that I am starting to have more of a one- on-one relationship with people. At the juried art shows I rarely meet the people who buy my art work, whereas at the art fairs  I am talking with people and actually explaining what inspired a particular painting. Wow, imagine that!  So far I have had good sells at these outdoor affairs. Are these the same people who saw my paintings at the juried art shows? I am guessing, no or maybe they are just seeing them in a different light. Oh I don't know, but I hope our love affair continues.
